Why open
Data that can't be shared becomes data nobody uses
A closed system forces manual exports and parallel spreadsheets – exactly what AIMZ is built to remove. Your project data belongs to you, and should be able to flow wherever it's useful.
Open by default
The API isn't an add-on you have to negotiate for. It comes included, and is documented the same way for every customer.

Your project data can be extracted, reused and taken with you. No lock-in, no export fee.

Open doesn't mean uncontrolled
Authentication per organisation
Access is granted with keys tied to your organisation, not to an individual who might leave.
The same permission model as the app
The API respects the roles you've already set up. It doesn't grant access to anything a user shouldn't see.
Traceability on every extract
Calls are logged the same way actions in the app are, so you know what's been fetched and by whom.
Versioning with advance notice
Changes to the API are announced in advance, and older versions are kept alive until you've had time to move over.

Connect AI tools directly to your project data
MCP is a shared standard for how AI tools connect to a business system. In practice: instead of copying figures out of AIMZ and pasting them into a chat, the AI tool connects directly to AIMZ and fetches the data itself – when it needs it, with the access the user already has.
A connection, not a copy
The AI tool fetches the data from AIMZ on request, so it's never an old copy pasted into a chat.
The same access model
The MCP connection respects the roles you've set up in AIMZ. Nobody gets access to anything they shouldn't see.

Does API access cost extra?
No. The API is part of AIMZ, not a separate module you buy on top.
Where do I find the technical documentation?
You get access to the documentation with endpoints, authentication and examples when we set up keys. Get in touch and we'll send the link.
Can we write data into AIMZ, not just read it?
For several of the resources, yes – including change orders and invoice matching. We go through what you need to write, and which rules apply.
What's the difference between API and MCP?
The API is for systems you build or connect yourself – BI, data warehouses, your own tools. MCP is for AI tools that need to fetch project data on their own when answering a question. Same data underneath, two ways to reach it.
Do you have ready-made integrations?
Yes, with the most common accounting systems. See the overview under Integrations. The API is for everything else you want to connect.
